Family First NZ is supporting Stratford mother Hillary Kieft whose teenager daughter attempted suicide after a secret abortion organised by the local school. Hillary is calling on politicians to reflect the concerns and wishes of parents and also teenagers, and ensure that young pregnant girls in a crisis situation receive the family support they deserve and need.

The Select Committee will be hearing Hillary’s presentation tomorrow 27^th (Thursday) from 10.10am in Select Committee Room 4, Parliament Buildings, Wellington.

Family First also has other families who are keen to share their harrowing experience of the law with the politicians.

Family First is calling for the law to be amended to allow for parental notification in all cases of medical advice, prescriptions and procedures unless it can be proved to a Family Court that it would place the child at extreme risk.
